The 2021 Jeep Gladiator: The Pickup That Knows How to Go Off-Road

The fearless new 2021 Jeep Gladiator at Slingerland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat is the kind of groundbreaking pickup only Jeep could build. It has friendly, intuitive tech and isn't the least bit intimidated by an off-road environment. What you might not expect from a pickup that isn't confined to civilization is a comfortable, roomy interior with user-friendly infotainment. With all those advantages, let's address some of the great questions we get from our many Ram 1500 truck fans all around Corunna MI.

Is It True the Gladiator Has Cool New Ways to Carry Stuff?

Yes, that's true. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator has a 5-foot bed with low bed rails, so you can easily reach over the sides when you're loading or unloading your cargo. The design makes it easier to load and then adjust your cargo for stability. The tailgate can be locked in three positions: open, closed, or midway. That allows you to haul longer flat things like 4 x 8 sheets of plywood, whether you're working in Owosso or Durand MI.

It Looks Like a Rugged Open-Air Pickup: How Comfortable Is That?

Fundamentally, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator is a four-door pickup truck that seats five adults. The front seats are surprisingly supportive, which you'll like when you're driving home to Flushing MI. The driver's seat gives you a sweeping view of the road, and visibility is good on both the sides and rear. Rear seats are also comfortable, with generous headroom and legroom for taller passengers. Available luxury features include leather upholstery, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

It Feels Like a Great Work Truck, But Does It Even Have an Infotainment System?

Yes, and it's quite capable of entertaining you. The standard touch screen is 5 inches, but 7- and 8.4-inch versions are available. Displays are user-friendly and located within easy reach. There are lots of buttons and knobs for adjusting the audio and climate control, so you don't have to depend only on the touch screen. Jeep's Uconnect infotainment system is designed to help you stay focused on driving, to help keep you both informed and safe. The 7- and 8-inch touch screens support Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, so you can see your smartphone apps on the screen.

How Powerful is the Powertrain?

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator gives you two engine options: a 3.6-liter gasoline V6 that generates 285 horsepower, along with a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with 260 horsepower. Both can come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, but only the gasoline-powered V6 can be ordered with a six-speed manual transmission. Both engines move the Gladiator efficiently up to highway speeds. The diesel V6 delivers peak power at a low 1,400 rpm, and it helps the Gladiator accelerate smoothly and confidently, even when pulling a trailer.

What are the Primary Safety Features ?

Standard advanced safety features include a rearview camera. The available advanced safety features include rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring and a rear cross traffic alert. Other available safety features: Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

Where is the Jeep Gladiator made?
