Part of what makes a vehicle so enjoyable is the specific powertrain it sports under the hood. One in particular, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, is an engine that has become quite popular within the new Chrysler lineup. Chrysler is thrilled to be celebrating a major milestone reached with this engine.

At the end of October, the automaker hit the three million-mark during production of the award-winning engine. This is yet another achievement to add to its list, as it has also earned a place on Ward's 10 Best Engines for three consecutive years. Just to show you how many drivers are enjoying this particular powertrain, about 50 percent of the Chrysler Group vehicles sold throughout the first 10 months of this year were featuring Pentastar technology.

Bob Lee, Chrysler Group Vice President and Head of Engine, Powertrain and Electrified Propulsion Systems Engineering reflects on this achievement, stating, "The 3.6-liter Pentastar not only has provided our many customers with billions of miles of reliable service and driving enjoyment, it is testament to our powertrain engineering prowess." He then goes on to say, "While our customers benefit from its wide range of capabilities, Chrysler Group benefits from economies of scale."1

This powertrain was originally unveiled in the 2011 version of the Jeep Grand Chrokee, and since then has provided numerous Chrysler models with a more efficient and enjoyable performance.

Of course the best way to get a feel for what this engine has to offer, is to head on over to Slingerland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram conveniently located in Corunna, MI. Our friendly staff would be happy to schedule test drives and answer any questions you may have regarding specs and features. We look forward to your visit!
