Creative Fan Customizes 1984 Dodge Colt Turbo Bumper Car

When you can blend childhood memories with your adult life and have it reflect what you drive, we're impressed. Today, we are excited to report a fan who brought us back to the carnival. Remember waiting for the cue as you held onto the wheel of your bumper car and made every effort to get a good hit? You guessed it. The newest customization effort is a Dodge Colt Turbo "bumper car."

Just as you can imagine, this wonderfully crafted "bumper car" mimics the game. The top and the doors have been removed, a custom fiberglass frame's been installed to hide the wheels, and it has an electric antenna in the back.

So...is this something you can really drive around? It hasn't been made entirely clear, but based on other features, we sure hope so. After all, this 1984 creation works gets an average of 34 miles per gallon, it has two reverse gears, has a working A/C, and it has an eight speed dual range sport economy transmission.

The owner admits that it's not perfect, but wouldn't require extensive fixing. For instance, the motor has a small oil leak (two to three drops only overnight), has some fiberglass cracks (perhaps you could say it was from another "hit"), and it doesn't have a catalytic converter--although one could be installed if need be. Even so, this awesome number has our attention.

Oh, and did we mention that its current bid (as of June 19) on eBay for $2,938? What a price for such an epic idea!

We usually wrap up by saying you can visit us, Slingerland Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM and take a look at the car yourself, but alas, no bumper cars here. That doesn't mean there's no potential! We'd love to see someone transform an already hot ride such as the Challenger or any other new Dodge vehicle. Stop by our Corunna, MI location, and we'll talk about the possibilities.
