Corunna is located in eastern Shiawassee County and is proudly served by the team here at Slingerland Chrysler. It became the county seat in 1840 and eventually incorporated as a village in 1869.

Located on the Shiawassee River, this picturesque village contains many historic turn-of-the-century houses and an elegantly styled courthouse.
McCurdy Park has been a favorite park of Shiawassee County residents since it was given to the City in the early 1900s. It is situated a few blocks west of the downtown area on the Shiawassee River.


Named for a Michigan Congressman, Durand was incorporated as a village in 1887.

Durand is home to the Durand Union Station. Due to its unusual structure, the Durand Union Station is one of the most photographed train depots in the United States.

The depot is also the home of the Michigan Railroad History Museum, an educational and entertaining source of Michigan's rich railroad history. The museum gallery features new exhibits several times per year to pay tribute to the colorful heritage of the railroader, and to the contribution of Michigan's railroads to lumbering, mining, agriculture, and industry.



Boasting a population of nearly 8,000 residents, St. Johns, Michigan currently serves as the seat of Clinton County, and is proudly served by the team here at Slingerland Chrysler. Heading into St. Johns, one might imagine that much of the city's culture would revolve around mint. Fortunately that's only partly true. St. Johns is also home to several orchards and cider mills, like Uncle John's Cider Mill. Famous for apple cider and doughnuts, it's the perfect place for families to kick back and relax. For those with stingy taste buds, stop by PhillipsOrchards & Cider Mill where they grow 34 types of apples!

Once all is said and done, visitors can grab a bite to eat and experience some local cuisine from several fantastic locations! Ryan's Roadhouse offers a family dining experience and serves American food and desserts to die for. Originally opened in 1959, the roadhouse has seen several name changes and a full renovation in 1998. Throughout it all, the food has remained incredible.

Flushing Township has many treasures to offer to families:  The Flushing Township Nature Park which consists of approximately one hundred twenty-three (130) acres on the scenic Flint River with three (3) fishing piers, an observation tower, native plants, walking trails, pavilion, and fishing and canoeing on the Flint River that flows through the Township; several great community school systems, including Flushing Community School system; shops, restaurants, and local businesses located in the City of Flushing; the Flushing Area Senior Center; the Flushing Historical Society, and many more treasures too numerous to mention.
 

Located in the center of Michigan, Owosso is known for its history and culture. Named for Chief Wasso of the Ojibwa, the city is located in the Shiawassee area. With a population exceeding 15,000, Owosso has slowly grown to become a diverse community. Read on to see fun things to do in the area.

The Steam Railroading Institute is a family-friendly museum about the history of the railroad industry. Located at 405 S Washington St., this museum has some of the most interesting steam engines in the area. Plus, you can take a trip on an old locomotive to experience the thrills of the rail system. For those who love the outdoors, check out the DeVries Nature Conservancy. With over four miles of trails, you can visit 136 acres of forest, prairies, farmland, and more. You can also walk along the Shiawassee River, or look for wildlife like deer, foxes, and fox squirrels. DeVries is famous for its fauna as well, and it's a great place to take your dog for a walk.
